Finally we can make the announcement as the ink has dried on the contract!!
We are delighted to announce that we are now affiliated with the University of Huddersfield as a teaching establishment. Starting on March 8th, we will be taking 2 year 3 students on placement. Students are expected to complete 30 clinical hours a week with us. This is just part of the 1,000 clinical hours over their 3 year Podiatry degree at University.
Both of the final year students coming to join us want to work in private practice when they qualify in June 2021. Our patients who have appointments booked during this time will be contacted to consent to be treated by a student. They will be supervised by Fiona, Shaiba or Jessica to ensure that your treatment will be to the standards that you and we expect to provide you with. The students will also learn about the business side of things and will be shadowing Kim as she carries out all the administrative work which goes on behind the scenes, which allow the Pods to do what we love doing most…and that is treating you!
We will also, in the future, be taking 1st and 2nd year student Podiatrists as well.
We are all really excited about our new adventure and we hope that you will help us, help train the next generation of Podiatrists.
